Watch Broadway's Elsa sing the new song from the Frozen musical

Looks like Elsa hasn’t quite “Let It Go”; in the new Broadway musical version of Frozen, she’s got a new big ballad to sing.

“Monster” is the first new song to be released from the soundtrack for Frozen on Broadway, penned by Oscar-winners Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, the film’s songwriters. The emotional solo is a key moment in Act Two for Elsa, played by Caissie Levy, in which the snow queen asks herself: Am I a monster?

The stage production of Frozen will feature 12 new original songs total. Following “Monster,” the production will release one new song from the soundtrack each week for the next three weeks. Those songs include “What Do You Know About Love?,” a duet between Anna and Kristoff (played by Patti Murin and Jelani Alladin respectively); “Dangerous to Dream,” an Elsa solo; and “True Love,” an Anna solo.

The production also features cast members Greg Hildreth (Olaf), John Riddle (Hans), Robert Creighton (Weselton), Kevin Del Aguila (Oaken), Timothy Hughes (Pabbie), Andrew Pirozzi (Sven), Audrey Bennett (Young Anna), Mattea Conforti (Young Anna), Brooklyn Nelson (Young Elsa), Ayla Schwartz (Young Elsa), Alyssa Fox (Elsa Standby), Aisha Jackson (Anna Standby), and Adam Jepsen (Sven Alternate).

In March 1968, a student revolt crushed by Poland's baton-wielding police was used as a pretext for an anti-Semitic purge by the communist regime. It began when the communists banned the 19th-century play "Forefathers' Eve" by poet Adam Mickiewicz claiming it had anti-Russian elements. Two students who contested the ban were expelled from the University of Warsaw, prompting their peers to stage a demonstration on March 8.
