The Raiders were awarded four compensatory picks Friday in the upcoming NFL Draft, giving them 11 selections in total. All four compensatory picks are in the sixth round.
Compensatory picks are awarded to teams who lost more high-value free agents the previous year than they signed. The Raiders were one of four teams to receive a league-high four picks, along with the Bengals, Cowboys and Packers.
The compensatory picks are overall No. 210, 212, 216 and 217. The Raiders now have six sixth-round picks, including their own and the pick they received from Seattle in the Marshawn Lynch trade. They do not have a fifth-round pick, having traded it to the Seahawks for Lynch.The Raiders will either pick 9th or 10th in the draft depending on the outcome of a coin flip with the 49ers. The Bay Area teams finished with 6-10 records and identical strength of schedule. The Boston Globe reported Friday that the coin flip will take place March 2 at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis.
The outcome of the flip will determine the draft order in later rounds.
