Plane skids off runway at GB Austin Straubel Int'l Airport

ASHWAUBENON (WLUK) -- A scary situation took place in Ashwaubenon Friday morning.

A United Airlines flight going from Houston to Minneapolis overnight was diverted to Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport. Upon arrival, the plane skidded off the runway, leading to buses bringing the 180 passengers and crew to the terminal.

For 180 unexpected visitors to Green Bay, this was not the flight they'd hoped for.

"As soon as we touched down, we were coming in real fast," said Alex Wasnick, a passenger.

"It was clear that we were going to go off the runway," said Mark Connor, a passenger.

After two abandoned attempts at landing at its destination in Minneapolis, this United flight's final stop was Green Bay -- and it didn't quite go as planned.
